A warm welcome
We wish you a warm welcome to the CAST (creative arts supervision training) website.
What is CAST?
The CAST training course will appeal to creative arts therapists, dramatherapists, psychotherapists, counsellors, play therapists and dance movement therapists who are seeking a supervision training course that offers a sound theoretical base and a unique combination of experiential and theoretical modules to fully support the creative approach to supervision.
The course has been designed by a dynamic team of HPC registered creative therapists and supervisors who are committed to delivering a quality training course. This team have highly specialised skills which are reflected in the wide variety of modules that are taught over 10 weekends. Most modules are team taught and all tutors have an extensive experience with a wide range of clients.
CAST is a long established supervision training course that had its origins in the early 90s. A team of experienced creative arts therapists met on a regular basis to offer one another support and to practice supervision skills together. The time came when they finally realised creative supervision training was needed and so began the emergence of the CAST training. The first cohort commenced in 1998.
The course is delivered over 18 months with over 120 contact hours and is specifically designed to allow time for reflection and integration. The residential weekend is a vital part of the course which enables work at a very deep level where the trainees build relationships with each other and work with archetypal material.
The course has regularly had feed back over the years that it has a very positive impact on the trainees' therapy practice as well as their supervision practice.
